Project Description
The Civil Aviation Club committee invited the best consulting offices in Egypt to participate in an architectural competition to design the club. Abdin Consult won the contest, producing the most suitable and innovative design, which met all the committee’s requirements regarding facilities, and moreover, employs a range of environmental control methods to provide the optimal conditions for each activity. The club’s land is located in the vicinity of Cairo Airport in front of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and overlooks from the north the main road branching from Al-Orouba Road that connects to passenger terminals 2 and 3 and on two side roads from the east and west. The club provides excellent facilities for both indoor and outdoor sports and activities. The project will be executed in three stages, each independently providing facilities complete in themselves. The first stage will provide social service such as the nursery, children's playground and mothers' care center, a club-house with rest areas, restaurants, cinema, ballroom, billiard hall, internet cage, etc. The spacious terrace of the club-house looks directly on to the leisure pool. Next to the club-house is the Olympic standard pool, with facilities for diving, swimming and water polo. The multi-purpose court will be used for such games as handball, volleyball, basketball and tennis. The administration building will incorporate a bakery and various shops as well as housing membership and administration services for the club. The second and third stages will expand these facilities. This will include a comprehensive indoor sports hall, along with a shooting gallery. All the club buildings facilities will be laid out in a very attractive landscape.
